The (Black) Family Meeting: I've Got Something to Tell You

This is a family discussion about college debt and higher learning participations. (Black History Month) Discussion takes place after my published book, The Script in My Box: A Journal of Forgiveness Sherlene : You didn’t understand, but it’s true! I was “right” in demanding to finish my college degree at DE State U, but as you know they wouldn’t allow me to. Family : Well, you know that most of us weren’t able to complete college. So, we didn’t know how to help you. We told you to just find a job – any job, but you said… Sherlene : (interrupts) I said that I really needed to finish up. I want to tell all of you something, today. What I didn’t tell you was that I had sponsors (government sponsors) that were helping me to fund the whole thing –my education and the center. They were going to help me get the resources to open the center (in Chestertown). I made a contract with them indicating that I would get my degree: and, then, open the center. Since it didn’t happen, they

Black History Month Interview: A Modern Black Male Slave

This is a current (2013) interview featuring my ex-husband who played a major role in my first published book: The Script in My Box: A Journal of Forgiveness (2012, August). Victor is 41, the same age as me.   We now share the responsibility of parenting our four biological children who are now enrolled in public schools versus home schooling. Sherlene: First, I would like to thank you for accepting this opportunity. This interview will provide my audience an update of personal strengths and weakness involving family bonding issues. Victor: Okay, I was wondering when you were going to allow me to give my point of view of your book. Sherlene: Before we begin, we have already decided, on many issues, that we agree to disagree. I guess one could say that is why we are divorced. Victor: (interrupts) And, because you would not listen to me when I told you not to do the things that you were doing with the kid’s and schooling, and trying to help in the community of Chesterto

Black History Month Tribute: Dear Master

A tribute to my parents: Well, this is the last week of this month’s holiday. I was hoping that my Master would tell both of you the truth. There is no shame in my history, and I do feel like leaping when I think back over the years: “I was taken away from my teaching mother; and, my (four) kids from their teaching mother.” Dear Master You have tried to take me out of your White land’s history:   Now, your public schools are failing and closing. Being mean to those who do good does come back to you you know. I didn’t know racism until I met you, Master. I want to thank you for showing how nasty and mean White people can be. I’m sorry, but my parents never really talked about your racial identity with me.   My parents didn’t mention you, to even hate you, because they were too busy teaching me to love self, and to become the best at whatever I strived to do. They never taught me that you were a bully.   Yes, you are. They way that you scare the races is amazing! It’s almost

Our Banks have New Customers

From the Editor How many of you have read the 2013 Family Quilt Newsletter on my site (sherleneonline.com)? The NewMonday Show The discussion included the value of sharing historical events with younger generations. Can you believe that the tribes were disputing over God's (Yahweh, Allah) name? The older generations were no longer using the same name for Him. I AM.... (Exodus) If you missed it you may listen to the broadcast any time at  sherleneonline.org, 24/7 or read lecture notes under the video tab on my official site. Let's talk  OUR BANKS HAVE NEW CUSTOMERS President Obama gave a short speech today about the issues facing Congress. Our representatives must make a lot of financial decisions in the next ten days, or many people will be out of work.  There is also another issue facing American citizens that begins in March: SSI and SSDI benefits will no longer be sent out in check form. SSI recipients are now required to have a bank account (debit card). How will thi

Real Talk about Parental Love

From the Editor It's Pancake Day, have a blessed Shrove Tuesday!  Announcement: Derek Duba, a White male, is looking for his birth parents. He was born July 19, 1983 @ 9:52 p.m. at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, IL. Fortunately, he was adopted on July 25, 1983. He may be reached at saraduba@rocketmail.com The NewMonday Show Last night we discussed the completion of family land divisions. Why do you believe that God (Yahweh, Allah) felt it was important to record such information? I believe because God wanted the later generations to know that he had kept his promises: New faith believing families need new lands. sherleneonline.org 24/7 Let's talk REAL TALK ABOUT PARENTAL LOVE Valentine's Day is approaching. Current national polls indicate that most American unique households have single parents. So, that means that there will probably be many single parents on this special day. I would like to share a poem about being a mother or a "Big Cuda (smile, just

Facebook's Little Secrets

From the Editor I am encouraging each of my unique households to read the 2013 Family Quilt Newsletter on my site, sherleneonline.com. The current company theme is Honoring Married Couples Month. I believe that we all appreciate a real love story, and genuine love of married couples. It keeps me inspired. This month is also Black History Month.  I am amazed at some of my (alleged) personal discrimination situations that I have been reviewing. And it's only the fifth day of February! There is a lot of White (race) fear associated with America's cultural history. Unique households, how far have we really come culturally in our society if we are not willing to discuss our past? Whites must be willing to pay honestly for the work, and sacrifices of present-and-past Black slavery, or this country is truly going to suffer. Are we the citizens who, for years, have caused the disturbance in economic systems felt across the globe? The NewMonday Show I truly enjoyed last night's
