Shape Knowledge and Children

From the Editor
Last time we discussed getting into your 'shape'. This week I would like to continue the conversation by focusing on shapes and children. The Inauguration events will begin in Washington, DC on Saturday, January 19. Why couldn't the event have been on its official date (Sunday)? Any way. How are you doing in regards to creating three action sentences for your plan?-your mission for your unique household or business. I will introduct the next step tomorrow on my Twitter @WhatIsYourPoint

I have re-shaped my online appearances (this page, Official site, and Twitter). I hope that you enjoy!

Joshua wins again! The discussion included first impression techniques. Whom ever said that old events couldn't teach one something was definitely incorrect in regards to Scriptural events.

Let's talk SHAPES
Shapes are all around us, in natural objects, signs, and even in the numerals and letters we use.  Shape knowledge underlies algebra, geometry, and other domains of higher mathematics.

This complex knowledge begins with the very simple foundation of recognizing simple shapes-circles, squares, triangles, ovals, rectangles, and diamonds.  Children can begin to notice these shapes in the world around them, and you can help them to do so.

As you walk or drive along together, point out shapes you see. Involve your child in shape-spotting games: Who can find the first leaf shape for example? :) You'll find that your child enjoys getting "in shape" right along with you.
