Sherlene: Devotion Socials and Easter Season 2019

It's time for families of devotion social (GICPA) to decide plans for the Easter season. Many of us will not be celebrating in the traditional manner of praising the crucifixion of Jesus-- the killing of an innocent man and our Saviour, dying on the prisoner's cross. We mourn the suffering that he endured so that we may have the choice to be a part of the everlasting life and real peace. During GICPA devotion socials, I, personally, show no respect/disrespect to the cross symbol.  As we realize, centuries ago, there were so many people who died on such crosses throughout the international lands of Jesus's historical era.  I choose to reflect the visual of the open cross to symbolize the meaning that Jesus is no longer on the traditional prisoner's cross. Why should we mourn for him when he is no longer on the cross? It is because he lives that our sins are forgiven, let's rejoice. During the month of March, our Food Fasting and Healthy Eating/Exercise social. E...

Sherlene Stevens: The 'No" [A] Good Man Named Jesus

Do you believe that Jesus was perfect within the earth realm? Jesus was the only begotten son of God, yes. He was also a male with human characteristics just like you and me; he had flaws just like you and me. The Holy Bible reveals to us that God describes all of his human beings as having flaws and weaknesses. So don't you be afraid of your realities of your imperfect ways. We are human creatures that have an unending desire for more to simply satisfy or fulfill us. This would include Jesus in his humanistic flesh. This would include the reality that Jesus could never be totally perfect here: He came to redeem us from our sins, and to feel and understand human feelings and actions--to help us survive in flesh, and soul or spirit.     Jesus was a man with desires, wants and needs. The two-person (God and Holy Spirit) are not able to truly understand what it's like to be a human because both are the spirit. Yet, God gave us Jesus to explain--to him--humankind's fears...

Sherlene Stevens: Christian Cross is the Fly On the Wall

The Cross is really faith believer's actions of what each of us does--seen and unseen everyday. Sort of like a fly on the wall that hears all and sees all. If you could pick up your personal cross, what would it reflect? Yahshua-Yahweh/JESUS/Isa wasn't welcome in many places, but it didn't change his morals or purposes.  I admit that some places he did instruct his followers to forget that they were ever there, and to shake the dust off of their feet. During Jesus's life span, people wore open-shoe styles (flip flops, sandals) even if it meant having dust or sand dust all over one's feet. With the warmer climates, many of us will probably replace tennis shoes and high heels for the average flip flop.  Though most podiatrists (foot doctors) believe that flip flops are "the worst" creative invention. Why is it that many people, globally, wear them? Americans must not be wearing the correct flip-flop/sandal material of quality then. We now know that Chris...

Sherlene Stevens: Receiving is Prosperity

Continuing on the discussion of my hosted theme of December Family Holiday Traditions, did your home style take part in acknowledging the Feast of the Epiphany (Jan. 6th)? The Epiphany is a faith-based celebration of the travels of the three kings, who received godly wisdom of the announcement of Jesus's birth. They traveled, from great distances, to present their finest gifts to a baby--their king, our king, and the king of all kings. The king of all rulers and leaders (past, current, and future) within the earth realm. As a prosperity non-ordained clergy, you will often hear or read my phrase                                "You must receive in order to give." It took a lot of challenges for me to understand this concept or thought. It was only until I read a similar passage in detailed story form, within the Holy Bible, that I received true meaning of my own unique dysfunction. I finally grasped the u...

Sherlene Stevens: What Does Jesus's Church Mean To Me

If we are going to celebrate Christmas as a national holiday, doesn't that mean that we are taking actions of recognizing the part about the so-called no-good, the--No, A GOOD--man named Jesus being born within the earth realm? So if Jesus is the reason for the representation of the national holiday, doesn't that mean that we should be able to reference "him" by whatever faith-based name (Jesus, Yahweh, Isa) within public venues when expressing the traditional December holiday (including public school venues and public school music concerts and plays)?! Just a faith-based or scientific hypnotic trance, just a thought, that's all.... "The wise get their inventory  when they need it;  Fools get what they need                                       before they really need or use it." -Sherlene (Dec. 2016) In the idea of Jesus, are we also to recognize the mission and v...

Sherlene Stevens: The Earthly Man Named Jesus

So you may be reading this and aren't too familiar with structured religion. Who really was Jesus, while on earth? What was it like during his time? Jesus was born into Judaism: he was a Jew who practiced in the faith. Today, we would identify him as being a Jewish Christian. Jesus was smart--perhaps, today, he would have been classified a part of the gifted-and-talented. Remember: Only the Catholic and Jewish priests, or formal priests, were allowed to be taught how to read and write. Jesus was a homeless wanderer.  Most financially challenged people and his followers had no consistent home style. They often slept outside (warm climate). Yet, they knew how to conduct themselves in other people's living quarters. Jesus was born to fulfill the first promise of the one and true living God.  The second promise has yet to be fulfilled--the ending of the world as we know and the return of Jesus (See Holy Bible, Book of Revelation). It is all about this promise that we par...

A No-Good Man

From the Editor This is Holy Week for many Christian faith believers, including myself.  This week I would like to share a portion of a mini sermon that I prepared while in lay speaking (United Methodist) class, a few years ago. The NewMonday Show The lecture discussed a new leader (Gideon) for the children of Israel. We must be cautious to carry our faith with us in any battle that we face, sherleneonline.org 24/7 Let's talk A No-Good Man Men, you are not perfect and you never will be while living on this earth.   Jesus (Yeshua, Isa) said that he, himself, was not any good (Matthew 19:17).   Let me explain who is a no-good man. □        He walks on water (faith). □        He saves his community and family. □        He heals. □        He trains up a child in the way he or she should go. □   ...

Aired 6/27/2011. Surah II: 139  The Muslim writer is instructing followers of Islam to remind Jews and Christians that we serve the same Lord and continue to do your thing within your religion, and the Muslims will be doing the same. :140   A question that should not be posed. Only Allah (God) knows... :141 Passed away means dead in the faith, or not usable to represent the true meaning of a particular faith. You will not be responsible for their sins. :142 Fools are people who question the events involving Allah. :146 Males sons are valued in the religious faith :148 I like this verse. Again, if you are a Jew do you're thing. Do according to your faith's practices. If you are a Christian do your thing. Do your thing of good works to help others. :150 This verse gives instruction to Islam followers. :152 Allah is saying I have sent an Apostle to teach, but do not forget Me. Is the Apostle Isa (Jesus)? :154 People slain in the spirit of All...

Introduction of Passover (Exodus)

Aired 3/28/2011. Passover or Pesach (Jewish, Hebrew) is best described in Chp 12:12-13.  There were 10 plagues. Ten is the biblical meaning of eternity without end. ThePassover Lamb was a symbol of Jesus (Isa) and had to be Without blemish A young male Examined four days from the selection for sacrifice Slain in public unbroken. No bones could be broken. The blood on the Israelites doorpost was a sign that God should pass over them and not destroy the family's first born.  The comparison of Jesus: 1) Sinless and perfect 2) Of the male gender 3) Somewhat young when he was slain according to the expected avg of human life at that time. 4) Jesus lived a meticulously examined life 5) Jesus died publicly it does not matter the brutality of his death. 6) The king instructed that none of his bones could be broken.
