Overview
Sarai was desiring to have children. God (Allah) had promised Abraham that one day his household would be greater than the stars in the sky and too numerous to count them. Sarai told her husband Abram to have sex with her maid. He agreed and had sex with her maidservant. Hagar conceived a boy. Hagar was despised by Sarai. Hagar flees and returned by the request of God. Abraham is blessed by the birth of his first son, and another by Sarai. Now Abraham has two sons -Ishmael (Hagar's) and Isaac (Sarai's).

16:15 As stated earlier people gave names according to God's will, hopes, or by events that was yet to be.
16:16 Abram was 46 years old when Ishmael was born. This was the first accounted event of a wife allowing her husband to be with another woman.
