Most American and International Christian families will continue the Christmas season through January 6, yearly: the feast of the Epiphany. Does it bother you to realize that we participate in an international faith of Jesus's vision of the meaning of the system of Church? Does it bother you to understand that Jesus (God in flesh) is not an American? The bible reveals to us that God is a spirit that is above all things. He is above the seven continents, and above the seven heavens. God, the Holy Trinity of God, is above all things, on purpose. The bible describes his distance between the planets as a distance that can never ever be reached: He is way above the known planets; way above the formation of any new planets of our planet system classifications. Many families, who are people of color, do not celebrate Christmas in the U.S. During the Christmas-season, what should these parents say to their child(ren)? Or should they express their beliefs at all to their child(ren)? If so, when is a good age to discuss such beliefs? Should communities become more sensitive to such faith-believing view-point? Should community schools, public schools, be forced to acknowledge all (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhism)  faith-believing holidays? or none at all? There are many faith-believing families who are teaching their child(ren) to understand --"It's not about the gifts, it's about the birth of Jesus our Lord and Saviour." Such families are teaching such specific morals or values in their unique home style. Why should others or neighbors care? It's almost that festive time of year--again! This is the time of the year when friends and families visit each other's homes.  What do you do when your mate doesn't want any visitors for the approaching holidays? Try This Discuss with your mate your feelings; Choose a different place to meet up, and make it a tradition when it's your turn to host; Suggest you meet at their homes: take something special to share including the usual items; Meet the day before or after the traditional holiday; or,  If necessary, apologize for your mate's attitude towards such festive occasion. Be sure to include your mate's name on all gifts that you give.  (Afterall, such gifts are still an expense out of your household's budget that both you and your mate share.) Happy holidays!

Continuing on the discussion of my hosted theme of December Family Holiday Traditions, did your home style take part in acknowledging the Feast of the Epiphany (Jan. 6th)? On October 1, 2016, my grandmother passed away.  So my immediate maternal family decided we should all give up our own planned goals for Christmas to unite to have one memorial dinner to celebrate and remember mother and grandmother, and to be with stepfather or step grandfather (grandchildren, great grandchildren) on Christmas day.  As many of you know I am a biological co-parent of four kids (3 daughters and 1 son): it ain't easy.  In fact, as the years go along, it has been a little more challenging then we thought it would be in dividing time with all the maternal and parternal family sets. Both family sets are active in family gatherings for birthdays, holidays, etc.  My children have now learned how to label and identify the fun habits or traditions of both maternal and paternal sets.  As they become older, they are making choices to do or not to do...  As we sacrificed our time--a memorial dinner--I noticed that There were no arguments...

If we are going to celebrate Christmas as a national holiday, doesn't that mean that we are taking actions of recognizing the part about the so-called no-good, the--No, A GOOD--man named Jesus being born within the earth realm? So if Jesus is the reason for the representation of the national holiday, doesn't that mean that we should be able to reference "him" by whatever faith-based name (Jesus, Yahweh, Isa) within public venues when expressing the traditional December holiday (including public school venues and public school music concerts and plays)?! Materials: Baking Soda  Cornstarch  Water Wax Paper Rolling Pin Measuring Cup Cookie Cutters Spoon  Pan In a pan put 1 cup of cornstarch and 2 cups (1 lb. pkg) baking soda. Mix them thoroughly. Add one and one-fourth cups of cold water. Place on heat and boil one minute to consistency of moist mashed potatoes. Stir constantly, and be careful as to not over cook. Turn out of pan onto a plate. Cover with a damp cloth until the mixture cools enough to handle. When cool, knead as you would bread or cookie dough.  DO NOT FLOUR BOARD! Roll out on wax paper to depth of 1/4". Cut with cookie cutters to make decorative patterns. Insert a small stick (wider than a toothpick) into each ornament.  You have just created holes for hanging ornaments. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes at 350F. Before you sell items to an out-of-town thrift store (smiles), What to do with them? Recycle holiday cards by saving the decorative side. Then, when ready to use, attach card stock paper on the other side. Recycle Christmas trees. Use artificial Christmas trees for other holidays, too. Donate holiday decor to local classrooms in your community. Can it be used for your hobbies? Save items for a family-reunion yard sale. Review non-profit wish list at stores or view their current newsletter. Save for a large, family-bonding party event. Surprise bags for guests who come to visit your unique household or family business. Donate new and gently used books, video games, DVDs, cookbooks to your community library. Ask a teen if they can use item instead of simply giving the item to them. Fine jewelry can be made into other items at an additional expense.

Each year, for the holidays, my company theme is Global Christmas Traditions of Americans.  It is an opportunity to introduce or reintroduce family traditions of your ancestors with the younger generations in your immediate household--your international side of you. For unison, I always invite families from other countries to participate in the theme as well.  I have discovered that most countries around the world share one common tradition behavior: lighting of candles. Amazingly, the definition of light and lighting of candles vary by community. Apparently, so does the climate.  In warmer climate communities instead of light as a holiday symbol, light-colored paper decorations are used. Austria - Light is a symbol of the eternal light God gave man in the Christ Child: "Christ is born." Three candles are lit during the holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
