Sherlene Stevens: Traditions Are Changing

Eastern Season Topic. Due to the decline of American white civilization and international traditions, our holiday- and social-shopping traditions are changing. There is still a demand for chocolate-item products so much so that we may not have enough for the demand in coming years. Though you would never know when you visit most large retail or grocer chain--shelves filled with unused products after a holiday tradition. Easter-egg activities are still trending in most American cultures. Don't forget to have that one special egg, otherwise known as "the golden egg!" For a more serious discussion of a topic that I have been wanting to share for a while. I thought it would be highly appropriate to share during the eastern season. I know, I know, there are a lot of American citizens who consider themselves no longer doing the religious practices and traditions anymore. I realize that maybe one of those citizens may be you. It wouldn't be strange for the majority of my a...

Back in the day, the Catholic pope requested the burning of 1000s of books housed at home libraries and library-model organizations. It use to be, if a child wanted to read books their parents would be required to consent before such actions. ISIS vs. Muslims of Islam Facts

Tweets of July, 2015 @atimetolearn, And You, Your Point Is ... Show Islamic State forces Christians and Jews to pay more to live in international communities, more than Muslim citizens. Muslims and "all things politics" don't mix: very little political involvement or voting. Slavery, crucifixions and beheadings, no, not in today's civilized world, correct?!  Muslims believe in the "Sharia law" --free housing, free health care, free food, and free clothing. International Muslims have no respect for our president (Obama) because he's the non-Muslim child of a Muslim parent. ISIS Muslims refer to Jesus (Isa) as the second major prophet: "He'll [Isa] will return and lead Muslims to win a final victory. Jesus would have never been crucified had there been no voting rights for community citizens. One voice: "You've raped our women." ISIS Rep Adnana: "We'll conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women...

Simply stop and don't do the action that is being said to you. You'll thank self later, okay. Having faith + Drug addiction+Hearing Voices = A long, but possible, life experience's battle. Don't think that hearing voices cease with health medicines or street drugs. There is so much drug usage in the United States that most States simply assume that all their citizens have a drug addiction challenge. Most drug usage (narcotics, meds), in our country, is to decrease actions of hearing voices. Medical mental medicines can b...

Hell Week: A True Man Cave Experience

Men, think you're having a hellish week? From an African tribe in the Thonga of southern Africa, there is a cultural tradition that has been adopted by men and college societies and religious leaders all over the world--in one behavior or another: aka Hell Week.      When a boy is somewhere between 10 and 11 years of age, he is sent by his parents to "circumcision school", which is held every four or five years.  In company with his age-mates he undergoes severe hazing by the adult males of the society.  The initiation begins when each boy runs the gauntlet between two rows of men who beat him with clubs. At the end of this experience, he is stripped of his clothes and his hair is cut.  He is next met by a man covered with lion manes and is seated upon a stone facing this "lion man." Someone then strikes him from behind and when he turns his head to see who has struck him his foreskin is seized and in two movements is cut off by the "lion man." Aft...

A No-Good Man

From the Editor This is Holy Week for many Christian faith believers, including myself.  This week I would like to share a portion of a mini sermon that I prepared while in lay speaking (United Methodist) class, a few years ago. We must be cautious to carry our faith with us in any battle that we face, sherleneonline.org 24/7 Let's talk A No-Good Man Men, you are not perfect and you never will be while living on this earth.   Jesus (Yeshua, Isa) said that he, himself, was not any good (Matthew 19:17).   Let me explain who is a no-good man. □        He walks on water (faith). □        He saves his community and family. □        He heals. □        He trains up a child in the way he or she should go. □   ...

The United Methodist Church: Pastoral Leadership

From the Editor Thanks, to all that wished me a Happy Mother's Day.  I was surprised of the number of viewers who also wished single males, rearing their children, a happy day. We as a society must learn to accept, honor, and appreciate our specific genders.  This behavior is another example of old traditions of family dysfunction, "we don't know any better." Yes, you do. You know that it is a dysfunction to have someone rearing children than their own parents whether it be grandmothers, aunts, uncles, single dads, etc. If we are trying to change a generational curse than we need to understand that this was a day to honor all mothers, not grandmothers. A daughter should have honored her mother which would be her children's grandmother. This is a major reason children become confused in regards to adult roles in their lives. I know it is challenging in some communities where it just seems normal to have dysfunctional households, as if back in the day d...
