1. Make copies of all important documents. However, most businesses require originals.
2. Place items in a ziploc bag and carry with you.
3. Scan the paperwork onto two CDs. Keep one at home and one in a safe-deposit box or at a trusted location.
4. Store all business machines on the second-floor level of your building before evacuating.

- Social Security card(s)
- Health Insurance card(s)
- Immunization records, birth certificates
- Insurance policies
- Mortgage and other loan papers
- Property deeds
- Car title and registration
- Marriage license
- Your will
- Last year's tax return
- Bank and brokerage account numbers
- Family pictures, photo albums, life books, journals
