This is the time of year when tree leaves are offering a pallet of colors. The invisible wind passes by with a dance that makes things just twirl or sway.
Store brands are preparing now for the upcoming holidays by offering holiday-store sales earlier. It seems like such ads are distributed earlier every year to compete for our purchases. Black Friday sales are happening before its actual November event. Online shoppers are getting excited for the added discounts that the season offers.
Seasonal job seekers are coming on board much earlier. I think it's a good idea; it allows such employees to learn the store environment to provide better customer service and to restock or discard outdated items available. Some short-term employees may even be invited to remain with a company and transition as one of its actual part-time or full-time associates. When a seasonal employee, it is always wise to budget accordingly, and don't overspend unnecessarily. Also, it is a good idea to include just-suppose inclement weather days off. Snow is expected earlier in the northeastern region, this year. I am hoping that seasonal workers will, also, create a budget for those just-suppose inclement weather days, too.
When shopping the food aisles, make certain to check dates of products. Outdated salts, sugar, and spices will not taste as flavorful. Perhaps that was what was really missing in your favorite recipe that you last baked. If you find that you are using more than the usual measurements of such ingredients, I would suggest buying a different brand of the food item at your local grocers. Did you know that bags of sugar or cans of salt can last up to a lifetime? I don't know if you would you like the taste of such items, however. Allow children and teens in your kitchen space to help create holiday-food items that they enjoy. Before my maternal grandmother passed, she taught me how to make her homemade vanilla sauce which we normally place on the apple dumplings that we traditionally make from scratch. It was important to me to remember her in this way. It was what I consider a truly special family-bonding moment, just me and her. Now every time that I make the apple dessert, I think of her. How do you preserve your family's passed-down food recipes?
A Thank You Poem
Thank you [Holy Trinity of God] for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you, for everything. -Mrs. E. Butter Leathan
